At BodyState, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how BodyState collects, processes, and protects your data in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Key Principles

  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): BodyState does not collect or store any data that can directly identify you, such as names, email addresses, or physical addresses.

  • Anonymous Data Processing: All data collected is anonymized and cannot be linked to specific individuals.

  • Data Minimization: We collect only the data strictly necessary to improve app performance and functionality.

  • No Data Sharing: We do not share any user data with third parties for advertising or other non-functional purposes.

1. Data We Collect

We collect anonymized data for the purposes of app functionality, diagnostics, and performance analytics. This includes:

a. Crash Reporting and Diagnostics

  • Tool: Sentry

  • Purpose: To monitor app performance, identify crashes, and ensure the app operates reliably.

  • Data Collected: Diagnostic data such as crash logs and performance metrics.

  • Anonymization: Data collected by Sentry is anonymous and cannot be linked to specific users. No personal data is collected or stored.

  • Data Storage: EU region

b. Analytics

  • Tool: PostHog

  • Purpose: To analyze user interactions and improve app performance.

  • Data Collected: Interaction events (e.g., feature usage) and performance metrics.

  • Anonymization: All data is anonymized; no PII is captured, stored, or processed.

  • Data Storage: EU region

c. In-App Purchases

  • Tool: RevenueCat

  • Purpose: To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.

  • Data Collected: Device identifiers and purchase details (e.g., subscription type).

  • Anonymization: No personal identifiers (e.g., names or emails) are associated with transaction data.

d. AI Coach Feature (Optional)

  • Tool: Microsoft Azure AI Service

  • Purpose: To provide personalized health insights by analyzing patterns in your sleep, energy, workouts, and vitals data.

  • Opt-in Feature: AI Coach is entirely optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings.

  • Data Collected: When you interact with AI Coach, a comprehensive health summary is created including:

    • Last 7 days of BodyState scores

    • Sleep patterns, vitals (heart rate, HRV, respiration, temperature, fatigue), and workout data

    • Personal baselines calculated from up to 42 days of historical data

  • Data Processing:

    • Your health summary is sent to Microsoft Azure's AI service for processing

    • Azure processes your data in a stateless manner and immediately discards it after generating a response

    • No data is stored, used for AI training, or shared with anyone, including AI model providers

    • The AI never sees your name or any personal identifiers

2. Data Retention and Deletion

Data Retention

All data collected by BodyState is anonymized, aggregated, and used only for improving app functionality and ensuring performance stability. As such, individual data points are retained only as necessary for these purposes and in accordance with the retention policies of our third-party services.

Data Deletion

If you no longer wish for BodyState to collect or process your data:

  • You can delete the app from your device.
    Deleting the app will stop all future data collection, as no data is stored outside of the third-party tools integrated into BodyState.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or app functionality. All updates will be posted on this page, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised accordingly.
